Girona Airport, officially Girona-Costa Brava (IATA code: GRO, ICAO: LEGE) is a Spanish airport operated by AENA, located 13 kilometers from the city of Gerona and located mainly in the city of Viloví de Oñar but also in the municipalities of Aiguaviva and Riudellots de la Selva, serving the entire Costa Brava. The airport is also only 100 kilometers from the city of Barcelona.
It is currently one of the fastest growing airports in recent years, mainly due to the fact that it is one of the main bases of Ryanair in Europe. In 2009 it handled 5,510,970 passengers, managed 49,927 operations and 184 tons of cargo. This made it the 9th Spanish airport by number of passengers.
